This structure is the main gate of Kagawa's family, who was
the minister of Iwakuni's Lord Kikkawa. The structure is said to have been
built in 1690.
The tenement houses (23.4 meters long by 4.5 meters wide)
are located at the right and left of the gate. The buildings are typical
examples of Samurai houses with their vigorous and simple architectural style.
The gate was designated as a cultural asset in 1955.
