I really enjoyed seeing Kabuki when I lived near Nagoya. Very interesting stuff.

I plan on taking in Kabuki theater. What surprises me is how many Japanese have not seen Kabuki themselves. It seems like Americans going to see the Opera.
Noh theater is more common and I have seen Noh performed at celebrations. Noh was performed along with traditional folk music native to Okinawa, including Okinawan dress and Karaoke of course!
